Southern Iowa | Its not that too hard to put square bales in, both small or large. Round bales are more difficult and take longer. Without a roll feeder I probably wouldn't, but you should give it a try anyway. I like alfalfa hay baled dry.
I would have quit doing it though if I hadn't put a roll feeder on the grinder to push it in . I put up to 150 lbs per ton in sow feed, depending on if I have oats or not. You start to think about trucking soy hulls every time you do that, with manually feeding 600 lbs in the grinder every batch. | |
