NW Iowa | Back when I was young and didn’t have any money I tore down buildings for lumber to use to shore up my old farm buildings. I started from the top and worked my way down to the ground board by board. At the end of the day every board removed that day was cleaned of nails and stacked on a flat rack. I tore down three corn cribs two houses and a barn. When I was done every board and shingle was raked up and burned leaving a clean foundation. Maybe that’s why I am so stiff and sore today. No matter how careful I was maybe a third of the lumber was worth taking home. Those old buildings have settled over the decades and very little of the lumber is straight and not much of the lumber is in nice 16’ lengths. The ends of the boards are split where nails were driven.
If I was you I would push it down and throw in a match. If you wrap a cable around it thinking you can pull it down with a farm tractor you are in for disappointment. If you do find someone to come they will pull a few siding boards and walk away when they find out how much work it is.
