Subject: RE: Vehicle batteries

Chebanse, IL.....

I don't mean to be contrary, but I think we still get pretty good battery life here.

I have a 2014 (bought new) JD 4038 sprayer. It has the factory batteries in it yet today. Brother's Dodge car has a battery buried under the back seat somewhere. It's something like 13 yrs old. We have replaced some newer batteries. But still we get good life.

As Larry-Minn said, when I was a kid just about everything had a chain in it and a wrinkled front bumper from pulling it. Then later, went to jumper cables. Like Larry, we haven't had to jump things as often as we used to. BUT....I have installed float chargers on just about everything. As long as you have a somewhat clean battery/connections, the float charger pretty much assures good cranking power. I understand that in remote situations you may not have access to electric power though.
