I would think twice about using old crankshaft over. Saw too many that had been turned from a spun rod bearing break sometime later after repair back in my JD dealership days. Get a new crank or a good used one.
Exactly.. old crank may have had the temper taken out of it now and more out to crack or spin again.
I wouldn't grind a crank for a high hp tractor, get a good used std crank and rod if using on turbo tractor.
I would save it for a 4020 or other non turbo application, unless its number 4 rod. If number 4 rod is spun (which I bet that's the one in question), I would throw it away, seen way too many problems with number 4.
