Northeastern Pa.
Since we started farming with nothing and still have a low budget operation. It also helps being a smto with no gigantic hunks of iron. I'd say 5%. My son -in law was A JD mechanic and has the skills we've needed the last 20 years to do most work if he has time. We have a top-notch JD mechanic that gives us advice and a hand when we need it. I've never had a service pm on the old 9600 but needed the dealer to get the final drive off and rebuilt. I can do most everything pm and replacement type work. We never would've made it the first 10 years leave alone the last 30 if I depended on the JD dealer. It helps only having one 2018 tractor and all the rest pre-2000. Our local dealer only has 2 mechanics for farm equipment, and one is on the road most of the time. It's a single store that's lasted 3 generations but it's future looks bleak. I heard yesterday Messicks bought out Rovendales 3 store NH dealership. That might be a good thing in that case.
