If its primarily pen pack solids you are spreading a vertical beater is the way to go. Owned hydrapush, knight, meyers, artex. Stuck with artex. Everything is overbuilt in my opinion. Spread everything from chicken litter, manger slop, and field piled pen pack. I put a scale kit on mine as I do some custom work. I'd never go back to a "push" spreader. Load with a skid loader.
