Subject: RE: Vehicle batteries

East of Broken Bow
Replaced the batteries in my 5088 tractor this fall. They had 1997 written on them.
I went to get replacements just like I took out, and was told they don't make that particular battery anymore.

So, I just got a couple Group 31 batteries, changed over the terminals, and am hoping for the best.

I do think that there is a lot of parasitic draw in newer stuff. For example if my brother leaves the keys in the ignition of his pickup, the batteries are dead in a week. Takes the keys in the house, it will start right up a month later. We can only assume there is something about having the key in the ignition that activates something that draws power.
