East of Broken Bow | Had a tractor with the mechanical fuel lift pump on the side of the engine block. It would start and run just fine around the yard, but you couldn't pull with it or it would start to cut out like it was catching air. Assumed it was a plugged filter, filled the filters with fuel, started it up, and it ran a couple minutes and died. Turns out the lift pump was dead. I can assume either the injection pump had enough pull to draw fuel at light loads and changing the filter broke the seal, or else the lift pump was on its deathbed and changing the filter and making the pump have to burp the air out was too much for it. Either way, the new pump fixed it. | |
