| Absolutely as little as possible, I just hate how fast that labor bill adds up. I am lucky to have a dad who is very mechanically inclined and is a wizard with steel fabrication and welding. I grew up working with him in the shop, so we do all our own maintenance and welding repairs, and 95% of our mechanic work, I’ve never had a combine at the dealership, I have had to have them come out a few times when a laptop needed to be plugged in to diagnose something. Part of the reason is that we run mostly older equipment, and we know our older Challenger combine inside and out, and the dealer isn’t used to them as far as the mechanical workings. We did take our Versatile 2210 to a shop to get the transmission rebuilt last spring. We have had engines out of tractors a few times and have done clutch replacements, as we start getting newer used equipment, I’m assuming we’re going to need more service calls unfortunately. | |
