Subject: Case ih 496 bearings

Have a 496 rock flex that has been upgraded to the trunnion style. I see the 3800 model uses tha same
Case IH part number 100517a1. Which is the trunnion and bearing complete
This trunnion has the zero thru the top of the trunnion

Later model trunnion discs have a trunnion that the zero come thru one of the ears. To me it looks like the same bearing between the two styles but this is only by observation and not measuring

I see the later trunnions can be ordered both individually thru Case IH or in aftermarket

Does anyone know if the later model version will go into the retrofit like I have?

My local dealer has neither trunnions in stock so a side by side could not be done. No one the dealership knew the answer and to do a side by side since this would be an ordered part on my direction is basically a NO return if it can not be used.

Before I spent money to answer my question I thought I would ask here

Still pencils out to rebuild what I have compared to buying a different used one and having to rebuild it eventually
