- We love our country, just you like you love yours. Things can always be better, but this will always be our home and native land.

- The climate sucks, but we're used to it, and it can be quite beautiful at times. We have warm homes with warm people, winter sports, and lots of sunshine.
~ this is a stupid point. americans know what winter is.
- None of my kids have had to do active shooter drills, unlike their cousins across the border. Our cities are the safest big cities in North America.
~ we have a fraction of the population of the US, so it makes sense that there's fewer incidents. gun violence still happens here despite our outrageous gun laws.
- There is no role for religion in politics. No one cares.
~ what role does religion play in US politics? besides, we'd be better off if our politicians would acknowledge that there is a God they'll have to answer to one day.
- We never have to worry about health insurance. Granted the system can be improved, but there are no co-pays, no monthly contributions, few worries.
~ MAID is becoming a very large part of our 'healthcare.' soon they'll give us the option of waiting 1 year for knee surgery or get MAID the same day.
- There's no corporate donations in politics, it was banned 20 years ago. Billionaires can't own the political system.

- The media (what's left of it) is not allowed to broadcast false or misleading news.
~ this is laughable. the gov't owned media will only say what the gov't says is true, so you can trust them!
- There's no corrupt geriatric supreme court that can ruin your life. Here judges have mandatory retirement, and few Canadians can name even one of them.
~ don't kid yourself, just because we don't know their names doesn't mean they won't ruin our lives. we don't have term limits for our PM, which is a good part of the reason the country is in the dumps right now.
- Abortion has been permitted for 35 years and is a non-issue politically
~ abortion is evil.
- There's no senate or electoral college that can keep unpopular parties in power.
~ we have a terrible system that allows unpopular dirtbags like Fidel Trudeau to stay in power because a greedy NDP loser wants to secure his pension. our system is terrible.
- Higher education is good, cheap and accessible. Few are crushed by student debt like in America.
~ higher education everywhere needs to be reformed. universities out here are liberal brainwashing centers. and the reason they're 'more affordable' is because we've been allowing half of india to flock here with 'student visas' and subsidize our universities, and then we don't deport them when the visas expire. that's just contributing to our housing/healthcare/economic crisis.
I'm beginning to believe that there is no such thing as canadian culture anymore. "We SaY eH aNd SoRrY aNd PlAy HoCkEy AnD dRiNk MaPlE sYrUp" doesn't count. | |
