There was a very good post on Canada healthcare in the last week on the cafe page I believe. We do not want Canadian health care here.

For those that can math.
Average premium for healthcare for a family as an employee (my wife) working at a hospital. $1200 a month. This is considered good coverage.
$1200x12 months = $14,400 in premiums.
Now factor in a $2500 individual deductible and $5000 family deductible.
Throw in out of pocket maximums at $6,000 and $12,000.

You people are arguing for that system? The hard truth is Medicare for all would be about a 4-6% income tax and I would gladly take that over writing a check for $14,400 to $26,400 a year. Sorry folks but our system is terrible. Unless your a school teacher or a government employee, this system sucks

You have a lot more faith than I do in the government/bureaucracy in allowing them handle a national healthcare system.

I'm not eligible for Medicare yet but I can't wait to sign up for it.
