Western Oregon
Find a horse logger for 1 acre and select cutting. I did 9 acres, clear cut.logged by hand, too big to use faller/bucker, limbed then cat yarded it to landing. He pushed it with cat with brush blade and piled with shovel, burned the slash and replanted it. I hand piled what was left and cut some wood, put plastic on piles, I burned after rains started. He hand picked the mills, separated the grades and hauled. Beautiful 40 year old stand, gentle grade to landing. He stacked the hardwood and tops at landing for my wood cutter. Last of the small Gypo ( independent) logging outfits around here. Good friend.

One time a neighbor had a good parcel logged. Got 1 load to mill and found out there was shrapnel from when area was in Contonement from Camp Adair. Shattered a saw blade. Mill would not take any more. Firewood. If there was ever a fence, good luck. 1 acre good luck, may be better off selling as wood with the prices of firewood....James
