You definitely have to be patient and wait for good conditions with spring NH3. UofI research shows that only certain hybrids benefit from delayed N applications. I do like spreading MAP or DAP in the spring as I feel like you get everything going faster with that broadcast application. Herbicides seem to work better with UAN though.
