coast of Maine
If you want it there it can be saved easily. The wall thats pushing in from soil/water expansion needs to be removed and replaced .This can be done with foam block foundation forms. As you remove the stone wall from one end you post the building with jackposts(lally columns)these you incorporate into your footings and forms. The concern I have is the lean. This can be pulled back and braced .The issue then is you have a nice straight barn that you spent 15 grand on (if you do the work)with little use for you.I have a huge old barn that we did this to .I then lowered the floors 2 ft and cut out one floor on the left and one on the right. This made a 16 ft ceiling .The posts supporting the timber frame were left in place so the bays are only 14 ft I think wide.We use it as a warehouse and no one knows of the space.
This is only if you have a need for space.I seem to think the white washed beams may have less value.I do know it preserves them from powder post beetles so maybe a re-saw value there. You could set it down on another pad/wall system but costs are going to be nuts.Maybe 100 grand for a nice pad that would need walls say 4 ft all the circumference and columns at all upright beams..Then you still have an old drafty barn..seems like a tough one..
