| In my limmited experience, many if the city departments are geared toward structure fires but not grass fires. A city of about 80,000 not far from me will have the occasional grass fire to fight and they make a lot of work out of it but then they mutual aid the smaller departments that are set up for grass fires (4 or 6 wheel drive, nozzles on front of truck, etc) . We have pulled water from a lake for practice but tried to park on the bridge over part of the lake for a real fire and we couldn't get the lift we needed to pump water. Must have been too high up. | |
