SE SD | 21' GMC with the 6.2 and a 18' F150 with a 5.0. I like the seats, forward visibility, and no body rust with the aluminum body on the Ford. I love the 6.2L in my GMC! Tons of power and get 17-19 on the hwy. The seats suck though, in my opinion. No padding or bolstering like the F150. The only downside to the 6.2 vs. the 5.3 is the handling. When I was looking, I test drove both and the 1st thing I noticed is the 6.2L makes the front end of the truck seem heavy and light in the rear. With the 5.3 or the 5.0 in the Ford you don't have that. They have a perfect balanced feeling. Technology I prefer the GMC as well as the stereo.
Even though it's basically a coin flip, I'll state it this way; If I am towing and doing any traveling within 150 miles, I'd take the GMC. If I am driving across the entire USA or in big cities with lots of traffic 150 miles+ I'm taking the Ford. The only reason the Ford wins on long road trips/city driving is that I find the seats to be more comfortable and the visibility is better, plus it has a 36 gallon fuel tank. | |
