Please take us with you.
You could probably take most of Onterrible as well, Northern Ontario is pretty cool, there is just a triangle ....Southern Ontario up to Ottawa, over to Quebec City and back. It should be its own state, and make Detroit the Capital of that state, it would be hilarious.
What do you know about Detroit ...Lions Ford Field, Tigers..Comerica Park , Red Wings , Pistons,Fox Thaetre all withing 15 minutes of the border
Detroit today is not the Detroit of years ago

Well, you're right. Detroit before the Coleman Young regime, was a vibrant, happening place. Some likened it to the Paris of the Great Lakes. Culture, arts, education were all exemplary. Since then it's become the capital of violence, graft, gang crime and idiotic leaders thar couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instruction were on the heel.
Well, they wanted control, they got it. The competent people voted with their feet. Whole damned thing should be given back to the Indians, or sold lock, stock and barrel to Ontario. Of course I doubt that Provence could scratch up the jack to close the deal.
Outside of some flashy projects and clearing some slums for upscale newbies to set up high tone housing developments, jobs for the typical guy aren't high dollar and the living conditions suck. I'll bet southern Appalachia is neck and neck with Detroit in placing 18 year old men in the work force, hell, they may actually be in the lead. It's a disgrace.
I was born there, grew up there, my dad was a journey man pipe fitter for Budd Wheel down on Charlevoix and Conner Creek for over 35 years, Ma worked for Michigan Blue Cross/Blue Shield at St. Antoine and Lafayette and me, my brother and sister got our education in that environment. We weren't suburbanites, it was our home and a darn fine home to boot. Robbery was unheard of, rape and murder were things that happened in those darker neighborhoods. Biggest worry my folk had was of one of us crossing a busy street unattended and getting hit by a car.
