23.7° .... Hah I wouldn't worry about the angle to much. You will know if you don't get it in far enough. And you can't hardly go to deep with that short a needle.
And personally I think tenting the skin is just a great way to get your fingers in the way. Get comfortable not tenting and go on with it.
