East of Broken Bow | On our rig, 20 feet of lift is about the maximum you can expect under field conditions, and try not to go over 10 feet, because in the heat of the moment during a fire, not everyone can hold a cool head and connect everything with no air leaks, properly prime the pump, etc.
Instead, when we have to lift much over 10 feet, we set a transfer pump as close to the water as possible, and push the water to the truck, rather than pull it. Works much better, especially in the heat and excitement of a fire. | |
