I hated the upkeep and weight of row cleaners. I finally had to remove them years ago to get through cover crops. I should have never ordered them to begin with. Wasted money!
I run the coulters very shallow. This leaves a 1.5 inch wide band that seems perfect. The disk openers will last a very long time.
This is on a 15" soybean planter.
