New Brunswick, Canada
Stihl 026/260/261 and Husky 346xp/550xp are nice light saws that will cut big stuff too.

Stihl 036/360/361/362 and husky similar size pro saw (357 xp etc) are a nice bump up in power for only a big more weight. MS361 with a muffler mod and a light porting is my personal favourite saw.

All brands use the same basic rubber pickup tubes, rubber impulse lines, tank vents and carbs with all the same issues with cracking/dirty fuel/water/old fuel, there's not really a significantly better new pro saw other than preferences for controls/ergonomics. Keep them inside, store them with carb run dry, use fresh mix fuel always, clean the air filter and cooling fins, learn to sharpen chains and get it checked at a saw shop every few years and they will last a lifetime for a farmer.

If it runs like crap stop and find out why. If carb is plugged or something is cracked and it sucks air and runs lean and you just keep trying, you WILL score the piston and cylinder and wreck a saw in an hour.
