What is trumps gripe with Canada? I understand the Mexican threats of tariffs because of drugs and illegal immigration. But what is the Canadian issue?

There’s no reason the US and CAN couldn’t go towards an agreement that basically makes them and us like EU. Heck if they wanna switch to the US dollar wouldn’t that be good for us? Maybe they wouldn’t want to and don’t make em. They could become an extension of US as far as travel and trade and us to them. If they have something we import elsewhere they could become our “importer of choice” in exchange for the same from them if not produced domestically for each. They stay Canada and we stay US. Why not? What am I missing? They do have the greatest protection in us because of logistics, but that is not their fault.
