| I don't get Trump's obsession with Canada either. He keeps saying the US is subsidizing Canada, I think he's referring to the trade deficit the US has with Canada (which is nowhere near as high as he's making it out to be). And if you look at the numbers the main reason is because the US imports so much oil from us. Take oil out of the equation and Canada has a trade deficit with the US. Now there's two ways to take oil out of the equation - either the US has to vastly increase domestic production or buy their oil somewhere else, like Venezuela, Iran, or other beacons of democracy that produce oil equivalent to the heavy crude you get from us. To top it off the US pays Canada below world price because thanks to Liberal policies over the years we haven't built pipelines to the west coast or the east so we're locked in to one customer, the US. No wonder the US buys from us, it's a great deal for you guys.
