We notill with a homemade split row 800 Cyclo planter we bought from another farmer. We can notill into standing corn stalks with yield averages in the 70's here in Western Ky. That said, we bought a used rolling stalk chopper out of Nebraska  3 years ago. We now run it over all of our stalk fields in late fall and like the results. We might have the only one in Ky. It was cheap to buy and very cheap to run using very little fuel.
