MN
Not sure where your located, but here at BASS Hybrids in Danube MN we have a base price of $215 a unit. In our development we are comparing ourselves directly to the traited products you referenced.

We have developed modern conventional hybrids that have great tolerance to pest and disease pressure, while doing it for a fair price for you, the farmer. Through my conversations there are a lot of growers paying for a GMO trait that either they are not using (roundup), or for rootworm protection that they still use insecticide to control.

All the while the conversation about yield being lost when a GMO trait is added is not included in the conversation. In perfect circumstances, the conventional version will out yield the GMO version everytime. The only time the GMO will yield better is when the pest/disease pressure is present, and the trait actually works.

I think there are a lot of farmers that are very good at what they do, and can save substantial amounts of input costs that they are spending on traits that are not necessary for the acres they are on.
