Looking to upgrade our JD 8310 with 9k hours , tractor will pull a 24 row corn planter, 1000 bu grain cart and some vertical tillage .

In our budget we are considering 8430 and 8335 or similar with PS and ILS - around 3k hours. I’m not as much about horsepower comparisons as reliability comparisons or feedback.

I like the idea of the R series but not a fan of the extra sensors. Compared to the 30 series being a few years older, and possibly more issues there .

Any recommendations? Is there one you think would be better

Is there a Cost to own advantage ? Thanks for any help!




Given those choices, I’d say the 8310 has the cost advantage. Lots of hours left in that tractor.
