| What I consider the “unfair” part is if you own property in the district but do not live in it you are not allowed to vote. I can understand the counter argument but it still goes to taxation without representation. It is not a stretch of the imagination to say that farmers in my area could own land in more than several school districts besides the one they reside in. This also bleeds into other community projects like park districts that can reach out from town to areas far outside their corporate limits to fund their projects. | |
