Driftless SW Wisconsin
I know some folks in 10ft tall continuous corn country who broadcast P and K behind the combine then run an Aerway at an angle to the rows in the fall.

The Aerway gets some soil in contact with the stalks without burying them. Also partially incorporates the P & K at various levels in the soil profile.

Then in the early spring they use a coulter type strip till machine to apply 1/3 of their N preplant ahead of the planter. They side dress the rest of their N. The yields are amazing.

More than one way to skin a cat as they say.
