Not sure I get the question. Of course many use that caliber. Always have always will.
Like 1 guy said a lot of caliber changes are nothing but a fad.
For the average guy that shoots less than 5 rounds per year or someone that shoots 100 its hard to beat a 308.

Versatility
Anyone still using .308?
