Fair enough but I'd still run the oil through that soft hose held on with hose clamps or the OP would now be buying a new orbit motor for his fan.
That said, we've never had a problem with a cooler leaking, but we've always ran it on a closed center tractor with the bypass loop removed so the flow control valve limits the total oil flow.
Only cooler I know of that ever had problems was a 40 year old 5100 that the aluminum just plain corroded away.
If the operator has it hooked to a low pressure return or case drain you'll RARELY have an issue with that motor...if it's plugged into the back of the tractor remotes, and you don't float it to shut it off, then you will take the seals out in short order.
There is a replacement motor with a Case drain line that is added to take all the pressure off that seal, and I believe it's roughly the same price as the standard one. I try to get all my customers to go with that style if they are direct drive
We have literally seen it all on those coolers and motors over the years. Some operators can run them forever with issues, some can't run them 3 days...
