Subject: RE: Lambing Wreck

It’s been a mess here in Colorado as well. We have been in a 3 year drought so far. Our droughts normally run 9 year cycles with 1.5 years in good rain. Lambing percentage is down by 30-40% this year for us. Which is absolute BS, we fed like hell over the winter and did a heavy flush. We lamb in jugs. We would have so many dead lambs if we lambed on dryland wheat. It’s hard enough keeping everyone alive as it is, I couldn’t amagin lambing out there. Sheep business has been ruff the past few years. With drought, fats not worth much and low lambing rates, it gets hard explaining all this to the wife and the banker. Even the dog takes convincing these days!!
