I understand the auditors can not advise. Another firm would be needed.
I also served on a coop board for 20 years. At times we had a member or two with near CPA or banking experience. They asked good questions that I think others would have not asked. I always thought the board should have a CPA that understood coops to be part of the board or elected to the board unless they had someone knowledgeable enough to understand the financial end of things.
Everything is good until you have a manager who can pull the wool over the eyes of the board and they not see it. |
