The issue you will into with shorter blocks is that a load will squat the body that much closer to the bed/sheetmetal. Depending on load, tire size, and suspension travel for your application it may be feasible to do and get away with it. Another thing to look for is driveline angle -- you can really screw up center bearings and u-joints if you get them in a bind due to decreased angles. Don't have my 3/4T with me today but I will check when I get home and post the measurement.

You could always get a Kelderman air ride system and be able to slam the truck at will - if money were no option. I have seen it before but will never understand the desire to do that to a truck. Reckon they don't really need it to haul anything.
