The 4030 had a 329 engine made in Dubuque. Not a bad engine but most said it wasn't as good as the Waterloo engines. The 4040 had a non-turbo 404, dead reliable but harder on fuel than the 329. The 4050 was a larger frame tractor and had I think a non-turbo 466. They weren't as handy as the 4030-4040 and took a lot of fuel. Some years of 4050's had 359engines, I think.
