| The first year or two that JD had their track tractors out our JD dealer had an 8400T out for demo that fall and and I think they ended up sending it back after a few guys demo'd it. Once there was a little frost in the ground that fall the track tractor was helpless, it would just sit on top and spin where with a tire tractor it will usually dig down a little bit and get some traction. One of our neighbor's have an STX Quad Track and I know they've ran it on a ripper quite a bit when the ground was frozen but it would be alot heavier than a row crop track tractor. As far as I know our JD dealer never has sold any track tractors but there are a few Cat's around now and guys seem to like them. | |
