ecmn | 4030 was a nice tractor for what they are. but a 4050 is a whole new machine. refined quad or 15 speed power shift. nicer cab, refined hydraulics. heavier, more power, bigger engine.
the 4030 and 4230 were basically a 4020 with a sgc on them.
we had a 4320 set at 140 hp and demoed a 4055 when they came out, the stock 4055 would pull the same equipment so much better, with the 15 speed and a nice cab I could have sat in that thing for the rest of my life.
for sure if a 4050 or 4250 is in your budget I would for sure go that route.
if 30 series is your budget I would look for a 4430, we have several customers with 4030/4230's and they all comment they wish they would have gotten the 4430.
we have so many 30-55 series small frame tractors in the area that are over 10k hours and only had minor work.
there is nothing a 4030 can do that a 4050 cant,
