Lake Park Iowa | We have a SCH cutting system. I always look for ways to cut lower and a few years ago was visiting with them obout making the system to cut lower. They mentioned that some pea growers put on the system upside down. Turning the guards upside down and running the sickle upside down, you can gain about an inch lower cut. So we went ahead and did that and have been very pleased with the job of cutting. When doing this you need a different head piece and you cannot use the roller system. But the lower cut was and is worth not having the rollers. We then also added a air reel to reduce the shatter and head lost even more. We are very pleased with the job now. Dan | |
