| Every year we hear about massive wildfires out west. I don't recall hearing about as many in my younger days. I realize weather/climate play a part but what else is going on? Is it because we are "managing" our forests differently and not cutting out dead trees and undergrowth in the name of conservation, giving more fuel to the fire?
Or is it just that we are hearing more about them because the media is sensationalising the story.
My theory is that 1 way or another, nature renews itself. In the old days, man did the renewing but cutting and replanting. Now we don't do as much cutting so Mother Nature takes care of renewing via wildfires. | |
